My New Year Celebration 2011


After reading all the article and the post I wrote about Chinese New Year, now is time for me to share what I have done and celebrate when Chinese New Year 2011. When before Chinese New Year, I will decorate my house with the sticker and lighting. Is time to Chinese New Year Eve, family will have reunion steamboat dinner as before or previous year. We will ate and gathering with each others then after will prepare to pray for the new year to get good fortune at the following day. After 12am and reach Chinese New Year, I will start pray and hear many fire crackers around the island. Many children would not sleep on this day include me because we believe that did not sleep at Chinese New Year eve will bring parent stay longevity. I will go around Penang temple to pray for been good health and good fortune in the whole year.

When reach the first day of Chinese New Year, I will follow parent to relative house and neighbour house for greeting and the most important thing is to take Red Packet or "Ang Pao" from the adult. We will chat to each others and sharing, some of the house will gamble mahjong or play card. This event is happen once a year so everybody will enjoy of it. Every house will prepare the New Year biscuit for others to eat. 



Come to the 7th day of the Chinese New Year, family will go to restaurant to have a dinner and "Lou Shang" to bring good fortune for us. As I mention at previous post this day is birthday of everyone so we will enjoy the dinner. I'm Hock Kien people so I will pray sky god or "Pai Ti Kong" with my family and prepare the praying stuff because this day is our New Year.


After is the last day of Chinese New Year or is known as "Chap Goh Meh". This day I usually celebrate at Explanade Penang because there will have throw Mandarin Orange event for those who are single and available and look for partner. Haha. 

I very enjoy for celebrating all the event or festival in Chinese New Year and this is the happiness festival among others.
