Chinese New Year have many Taboos and Superstitions. Many of us will follow it so that we will have good fortune in the whole year including me. Following are the Taboos and Superstitions when Chinese New Year: 1. Do not take a nap in the afternoon. People believe that is take a nap in the afternoon, people will become lazy whole year. 2. 9th Day of Chinese New Year

As I mention before, everyday of Chinese New Year have different festival to celebrate. In the 9th day of Chinese New Year, many will pray the sky god or "Pai Ti Kong". In Chinese we have different people such as Cantonese, Hockkien, TeoChew, Hakka and others. In the day, Hockkien people will celebrate it because this is their New Year include me because i'm also Hock Kien people. From the history during the Ming Dynasty, the Southern part of Hock Kien or "FuJian" province was plagued with the Japanese pirate, it is happen in the day before so the Hock Kien folks had to escape the onslaught of these pirates and rain to the deep mountains. They were protected from the attack under the shelter of think bushes of wild sugar-cane plants.
